No – you can sell issuer-sponsored shares (SRN) or CHESS-sponsored shares (HIN) directly with us, without an existing trading account.

What’s the difference between an SRN and a HIN?

What’s the difference between an SRN and a HIN?

SRNs are Security Reference Numbers (start with ‘I’ followed by 10 numbers) for shares held directly with the company registry, while HINs (start with ‘X’ followed by 10 numbers) are used for CHESS-sponsored holdings under a stockbroker account. We can handle both with ease.

I’ve lost my SRN or can’t find my share statements. Can you still help?

Your sale is usually processed within 1–2 business days after application, and funds are deposited directly into your bank account according to standard ASX settlement (2 business days after trade execution). We can process same-day sales for shares held on SRN.

You’ll typically need your SRN (found on holding or dividend statements), valid photo ID (front and back, e.g., driver’s licence or passport), and your bank account details plus a supporting bank statement (we can also issue payment as a cheque).

Will I pay high fees for a one-off sale?

Will I pay high fees for a one-off sale?

What if I don’t know all the shares the deceased held?

That’s where our Blind Share Search comes in. We perform a thorough investigation with all major registries to identify any hidden or forgotten holdings, unpaid dividends, or unclaimed monies that might otherwise be missed.

JM investments is a Family owned Australian stock market advisory service that was born from over a decade of experience in the financial and commodity markets. Founder Jon Moses saw a gap in the market between the DIY online broking space lacking personality and advice and the corporate broking houses charging exorbitant, ongoing fees often misaligned with the service provided.

JM Investments’ mission is to provide a personalised service with fair, honest, and transparent pricing.

JM investments utilise a vast research team to provide up-to-date research and analysis as well as offer model portfolio structures to follow or adapt to an individual’s own risk and ethical profiling.
